Heat Stress Hydration
A solution of sodium bicarbonate, potassium sulfate, and ascorbic acid: Supplementation of sodium bicarbonate will help prevent a drop in blood pH. Potassium sulfate will replace potassium excreted via the urine and ascorbic acid will prevent oxidative damage and assist in increasing energy retention during reduced energy intake periods when the birds are experiencing heat stress.
